Al-Qa'im border crossing (Arabic: معبر القائم الحدودي) is one of the major supply routes across the Middle East. It connects the Syrian town of Al-Bukamal to the Iraqi town of Al-Qa'im. The border crossing is about 450 km from Syrias's capital Damascus and 340 km from the Iraqi capital Baghdad. In June 2014, Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL/ISIS) captured the border crossing.[1]
