Ain Aouda secret prison is a suspected black site, torture and detention centre operated by the Directorate for the Surveillance of the Territory (Direction de la surveillance du territoire, DST), the Moroccan domestic intelligence agency implicated in past and ongoing human rights violations.[1][2][3][4]

During the Arab Spring protests, the inmates of the Temara interrogation centre were transferred to Ain Aouda.[4] The United States reportedly paid the Moroccan state $20 million for the building of the prison.[5]

It is rumoured that it is located inside a bushy natural reserve of the Alaouite royal family, close to a ranch of late prince Moulay Abdallah. The suspected location is inaccessible by road, an can only be penetrated by passing on the royal residence which is guarded by the Moroccan Royal Gendarmerie.[6]
