Achatinellidae is a family of tropical air-breathing land snails, terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusks in the superfamily Achatinelloidea.

Taxonomy

This is the only family in the superfamily Achatinelloidea (according to the taxonomy of the Gastropoda by Bouchet & Rocroi, 2005).

In this family, the number of haploid chromosomes lies between 16 and 25 (according to the values in the table).

Distribution

This family of snails occurs widely in the Pacific islands. They are at their most diverse in the Hawaiian group.
