Tomasz "Tom" Kmiec (born July 31, 1981) is a Canadian politician, who was elected to represent the riding of Calgary Shepard in the House of Commons of Canada in the Canadian federal election, 2015.[1]
Political life
Kmiec was elected in the Canadian federal election, 2015 for the riding of Calgary Shepard. Upon his election, he was named to the "Joint Committee for the Scrutiny of Regulations".
Kmiec, along with NDP MP Gord Johns and fellow Conservative MP Michael Cooper, created the "Parliamentary Friends of the Kurds", a parliamentary group aimed at establishing dialogue between Canadian and Kurdish lawmakers and fostering positive relations between Canada and the Kurdistan Region.[2] Kmiec, Johns and Cooper traveled to Washington DC in March 2016 to meet with officials from the Kurdistan Regional Government.[2]
