Fusion Academy & Learning Center, often referred to as Fusion Academy or Fusion, is a private alternative school for grades 6-12. All classes are offered on a one-to-one basis with only one student and one teacher per classroom.[1]

History

Fusion Academy was founded in 1989 by Michelle Rose Gilman as an after-school tutoring program in her garage in Solana Beach, California, where it quickly grew. In 2001, Fusion Academy expanded to include a full-time school curriculum. In 2009, the same year Fusion opened its second campus in Los Angeles, Inc. Magazine recognized Fusion in its Inc. 5000,[2] a list of America’s fastest-growing private companies. Students complete all schoolwork on-site, instead of at home.

Customized summer programs are available in math, history, science, English and foreign languages. Students can also prepare for high school entrance exams or the SAT, ACT, GED and more. In addition, Fusion Academy offers help with test preparation and review, test taking, and time management. Furthermore, Fusion Academy assists students with college applications and career planning, as well as those with ADHD and learning differences.
