Christa Wolf begann nach ihrem Germanistikstudium, als Literaturkritikerin, als Lektorin und Mitarbeiterin im deutschen Schriftstellerverbund. Als erste belletristische Arbeit erschien 1961 die "Moskauer Novelle", die sogleich ungewöhnliche Beachtung fand. Ihre neue Erzählung "Der geteilte Himmel", die im Mai erscheinen wird, steht zur Diskussion für den FDGB-Literaturpreis 1962-1963. Gegenwärtig arbeitet Christa Wolf an einem Filmdrehbuch für ihre Erzählung "Der geteilte Himmel".
