The 1999 Cleveland Indians became the first team in the modern era of major league baseball to score over 1,000 runs during the regular season. They were shut out only 3 times in 162 games. Five Indians scored at least 100 runs and four drove in at least 100 runs. Right fielder Manny Ramirez drove in 165 runs, the most by any MLB player since Jimmie Foxx in 1938.

July 3, 1999: Against the Kansas City Royals, Jim Thome hit the longest home run ever in Cleveland Indians history, a 511 ft bomb to center field which managed to clear the outer gates and onto Eagle Avenue outside of Jacobs Field.
